Change "Install" to "Configuration". It appeared as though you were indicating to install the files into a folder named "~/.indicator-chars"

Also change these from:
Create ~/.indicator-chars
Each row corresponds to a set of chars

To something like:
Create the configuration file ~/.indicator-chars (so as to explicitly differentiate from creating a directory)
Input a group of characters to access on each line of the file
