A better way to handle symlinks to directories is required

Since PR #37 is backed out, issue #35 (which I cannot reopen) still needs a solution.

BTW, The current version not only sync a symlink to a directory as a directory, but also IGNORES files in the linked source. I'm afraid that this behavior is quite troublesome.

I suggest a cp-like default behavior for reasons listed in #37 (comment).

I think I agree with a cp default behaviour. I would happily review a PR implementing this if this is still a necessity.
