Add a data source for ascent. Current value of the bar should be the current ascent and max value the total ascent of the loaded route. If no route is loaded, just interpret this as progress = 0 and show the current ascent as value.
Ideally, since this considers the route, it should be based on the elevation profile of the route instead of the ascent measured by the karoo using barometric pressure; but the elevation profile is currently not exposed to extensions.
