Can we emulate the experience of hearing your neighbours in the night? Would this enhance the game? Whatever is done, this should be an option for the game, eg. as an extra selection button on the setup screen.

Here's how it might work:

  • Consider the players in order as they are listed in the game, but with the last being neighbour of the first.
  • At random, in the morning, fate will inform a player something like: "you heard werewolf activity behind you" (or wolfsbane or trapper, or ahead of you).
  • This should not be entirely reliable information. eg. for any one player in one night, there's a 10% chance of being informed of neighbours' activity, 5% chance of next-to-neighbours, and 5% chance of made-up information.
  • The information should be informed at daybreak, but only visible when selected (to minimise chance of being accidentally overseen).
