Test object `id`s to see if they break in the same way as figure `id`s

Idea being proposed

PR #712 clarifies the documentation around creating figure ids (no spaces, capital letters, can't start with a number, no periods, no underscores, etc...). Test to see if the object ids have a similar issue, in which case the documentation needs to be updated like #712.
