We're in the process of finalizing the 4.0 release and are aiming to have it done by the end of this month at the latest.

Since I'm not very familiar with this plugin, I can't really judge how easy it is going to be to migrate over to the new version.

Thank you for reaching out! I will test our plugin against the beta release, but I don't envision there being any major obstacles to upgrading.

How did that testing go? It would be good if select2 4.0 was supported, 'cos it would mean that we could use the nice select2-bootstrap theme
