Trying to install, running ubunto on virtual machine.

at this step (entering in the command line interface)

it kicks back

This can be avoided by using python 3.6 in a conda environment.

I'm having the same issue. I think the install script expects Python v3.12. I'm a noob so was hoping the repo would be up-to-date to cope with newer version of libraries. Can anyone help fix this? [I promise to contribute once I get my training-wheels off :) ]

There are some workarounds suggested on #1786

Upgrading the codebase and its dependencies to support more recent compilers and chipsets has been underway for some months and is more or less complete. We have Ubuntu 24.04 and ARM64 support undergoing internal quality control which will make the workarounds unnecessary.

If you start with the noble branch on my fork of QRL https://github.com/jplomas/QRL/tree/noble you can try things today. The config.yml file in the .circleci folder has the build steps.

How long to merge to main org repo depends on if we discover any issues in testing.
