Why not release all versions available as precompiled downloads?

Because it's a super effort to compile on many machines.

Okay, I understand that. I thought it was a relatively simple operation using automated tools.

I have a PowerPC which is turned off. Cannot automate building on it and a Raspberry Pi is more better than it.
Then I need to build on a Windows laptop. Can't automate that because Windows. Maybe I could with virtual machines there.
Then a Pi and a MacOS and Debian. All are off so they need to be turned on and such. Windows requires lots of testing now because you'll be able to communicate through GIT. Anyway, the intelligent machines won't build my release files and test them. And verify that they do. But they can take your ideas and your data and sell it.

GH doesn't have a PowerPC build anywhere or an ARM. For Pi and PowerPC, the files are natives. But probably some of the tools were not natively built on those architectures. Anyway, it's a slow process and helps me identify warnings that other machines don't see. The smart machines won't know that or care. They'll be like, it compiles; good enough.
