Decide on a standard workflow

We need to decide on a standard workflow, because the dev branch seems to be made unstable fairly frequently and I think we're all partly to blame for that. Maybe we should consider using something like the git-flow standard?

Any major objections to using git-flow? @dcgauld @joshcroad @MaxHunt? I'll set it all up and let you know when it's ready. You can continue making changes in the dev branch until I'm done

SourceTree seems to have a nice UI for projects using the git-flow standard
