Smart quotes and apostrophes?!

I'm on the fence ... seems like potentially more trouble than they're worth. But maybe it's OK, given that any other usage of ' and " should be inside code blocks?

I feel like given how much I fight smart quotes in Word that it must be harder than it seems... but I would like to see that at least so 👍
