  • Identified adverse events: Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease (CUI: C0022336) and transfusion-related acute lung injury (CUI: C0948343).
  • These events were captured by my methods but not by OnSides.
  • The terms were added to the label at different times: Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease in 2023 and transfusion-related acute lung injury in 2009.
  • Suggests possible gaps in coverage due to MedDRA versioning or training data used in models.

• Octreotide Acetate Injection (SPL GUID: 387d7f8d-9762-4f6b-99e1-bdc50b8a1633):

  • Bell’s Palsy (CUI: C0004743) listed as a potential adverse event in the label since 2012.
  • Bell's Palsy is absent from OnSides.

• Overall findings:

  • overall there may be a few thousand such instances that are missed by the language models used for OnSIDES
