What is the thought for how this is to be implemented?

I presume this:

public function getArrayCopy()
{
    return $this->object;
}

will be changed to this:

public function getArrayCopy()
{
    $copy = [];

    foreach ($this->object as $key => $value) {
        if ($value instanceof ArraySerializableInterface) {
            $value = $value->getArrayCopy();
        }

        $copy[$key] = $value;
    }

    return $copy;
}

I guess my question is, what is the definition of "child entities"? Entities that exist as properties of $this->object?
