Opening files when UI is running on server

Now if I am running UI from a Linux based server & the people viewing it are using Windows OS ... how can mount points be similar? Can author elaborate / provide any solution?

This is a fork of the original project and your question is likely best served by asking there by filing an issue. There is also another repository link referenced from my README.md that appears to have an issues filing method as well.

Now, with that out of the way, I will say that I have not yet had a chance to set this software stack back up, thus my memory of this fork is fuzzy at best.

I will take a further look here when the first opportunity takes, but I can make no promise as to when this will be, so in the mean time, let me ask you if you are certain that your issue is specific to my repository and its changes?

I have cloned you repository & have been running recoll-webUI on my RADXA Zero 3E. With Twingate installed in my docker I can access my recoll-webUI from anywhere.

In Linux for instance my content location is

/media/radxa/AppData/paperless-ngx

On WIndows

y:\AppData\paperless-ngx\

I tried via recoll-webUI -> Settings change location but links don't work properly

I installed this plugin on Chrome for both OS (on Linux it works, Windows no)

I just re-read your question and realized that I can probably respond with an answer that you find helpful -- this is an issue I have come across many times and I feel as this is my best approach.

I would use WSL subsystem for this task. For instance, for any path now can be accessed like

/sharedmedia/papers = /mnt/c/sharedmedia/papers

The same path, but M$ encoded
/sharedmedia/papers = c:\sharedmedia\papers (I think?? -_-)

/mnt/c/AppData/paperless-ngx

y:\AppData\paperless-ngx\ =
/mnt/y/AppData\paperless-ngx`

And...

~/bindm/paperless-ngx is Windows for c:\users\user\bindm\paperless-ngx

@defencedog how have you setup recoll webui for Windows? Is WSL a viable option for you?

Otherwise, a minimal amount of translation work may be required to handle paths differences between the two. I am not sure off the top of my mind how exactly Python handles pathing between the two OS, but it should be fairly straightforward to handle yourself by referring to the Python API docs for filesystem access.
