KROSS + COSMOS Investigation Tasklist

Here we will keep track of some identified tasks & investigations to better understand current issues in the KROSS+COSMOS measurement identified at the Jan 2025 Tucson workshop. The relative prioritization is included at the end of some tasks:

• Find or estimate pixel-level errors for the KROSS velocity maps; E3
• Select on difference between H-alpha vs HST shapes
• PSF corrections to the velocity map
• Add a galaxy-galaxy lensing measurement to the shear samples; E1
• Run optimizer on a datacube model that includes a basis imap (ground state sersic); SE1
• • Investigate other morphology options; e.g. Peng et al. (2010)
• Adjust the relative weight for prior on sin(i) for point-estimator
• Refit the HST images for our own shape measurements (and compare to KROSS)
• rscale containment; E2.b
• v22 velocity estimation; E2.a
• Degrade data & fit the rotation curves; S2
• Mask interlopers (if re-fitting the HST images)
• Merge into main and start better repo practices!
