Your purpose in using this API: I am developing "QuranAI", a premium mobile and web platform that uses AI-driven RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) to help users explore the Quran. We need the Sunnah.com API to provide authentic Hadith context for Quranic verses, specifically to link "Asbab al-Nuzul" and provide complementary prophetic tradition results in our semantic search engine.
API rate limits:
Maximum requests per second: 5 - 10 (to support parallel search queries).
Maximum requests per day: 50,000 (especially during the initial data indexing and seeding phase).
Is your use case better served by having an offline dump of hadith data or programmatic API access? Both are beneficial. We use programmatic API access for real-time dynamic lookups and specialized cross-referencing, but we also benefit from dumps for high-performance localized vector search (embeddings) to reduce latency in our AI engine.
What are the languages in which would you like hadith data? Arabic (Primary), English (for our multilingual semantic search), and potentially Urdu (for future expansion as per our product roadmap).
What programming language will your API client be in? TypeScript / Node.js (Framework: Next.js).
Thanks and best regards
