Modifies timestamp on read by default? #24

Main issue

What I expect from a good hex editor is that it doesn't change the file as long as it only displays its contents. HexEdit, however, changes the file's timestamp as soon as it loads, for whatever reason.

Unfortunately, this is a “feature” that cannot be compensated for by any of the truly useful functions of this tool.

New insights, slightly better:

In the main menu via Tools -> Options... in the Settings tab, in the group box Shell integration, I found the checkbox Open files read-only which I checked.

Now, HexEdit still provides modifications on files I open, I just have to use the save button. And when I visit the setting again, the check mark is lost(?), but the quasi read-only mode is still active. Why is that?
