installation error

When trying to install the package I get the following error:

undefined exports: best_model

Hi @JanEngelstaedter ! Wow, you must’ve really dug around in our code archives to find this package. This project was never finished, and hasn’t been touched since 2018. I don’t consider it ready for use, unfortunately.

May I ask what you’re looking for / trying to do? I might be able to point you to my recommendation for the next most suitable thing. Feel free to email if you’d rather not post publicly.

PS I’m from Brisbane and will be visiting for most of Dec 2025. I’d be keen to get coffee and hear more about your research if you’re up for it — I always like learning what folx are studying, and especially in Brisbane. No pressure; I’m sure you’re busy.

Actually — @svteichman — are you able to see if this is an easy fix? I haven’t thought about this project in years and maybe we made progress than I remember. I’d be grateful for 10 mins of your time assessing the complexity of fixing the install issues.

I think this package even predates usethis, ha! 😹

Hi @adw96, sorry - I was just playing around with different species richness estimators, came across this package and thought it looks interesting. No need to fix if not ready for use :). Coffee sounds great, I'll send you an email!
