GRANT MISSION, IMPACT, RISKS & REFERENCE

Grant Mission:         We are looking to establish a Stacks Chapter in Connecticut. We believe Stacks to be a top Web3 solution for developers to build their Applications on the Bitcoin network which is decentralized, secure, and most widely adopted.

We will accomplish our chapter by developing teams working with Stacks technology. This will add to the FinTech skills in Connecticut. We will produce documentation, tech, and artifacts to help the broader community. The tech will include proof-of-tech software components as well as the foundations for apps using Stacks. A main goal is to make this model reproducible in other regions by having clean and concise deliverables.

Our program will work towards establishing and strengthening the Stacks community and education in the state of Connecticut. The bulk of this work will be anchored in Stamford CT, but our target is Connecticut and beyond. We will host workshops and one hackathon at the end. This work will be focused on documentation, specific proof-of-tech applications, adding and artifacts for others to learn from and use. It has been challenging to find documentation on the Stacks eco-system. So, this proposal is to build better documentation while building the Stacks community. Key parts of our work will be presented as workshops and the hackathon. These events will produce digital artifacts including documentation, examples, code and videos.

We will also focus on interoperability which is a core aspect when building Web3 products.

Grant Impact:               We can measure downloads of our documentation and proofs-of-tech from github.

The number of participants and observers in the hackathons. The number of developers using Stacks by showing them the power of the Stacks ecosystem. This will lead to more smart contracts, interactions and payments.

Grant Risks:                          Since this is education, the risk is relatively low. The main risk is not enough attendees attending the workshops. We have already built a number of successful meetups and established a solid community to mitigate this risk.

Support Link:                                     Github link for Phil Bradford.
