Bundler can't install executables

Occurs when including the gem via a git repository:

gem 'sproutcore', :git => 'https://github.com/sproutcore/abbot.git', :ref => 'e7a8f2f'

sproutcore at /Users/richcatalano/.rvm/gems/ruby-1.9.3-p551/bundler/gems/abbot-e7a8f2f9c5b0 did not have a valid gemspec.
This prevents bundler from installing bins or native extensions, but that may not affect its functionality.
The validation message from Rubygems was:
  duplicate dependency on eventmachine (~> 1.0), (>= 0.12.6) use:
    add_runtime_dependency 'eventmachine', '~> 1.0', '>= 0.12.6'
