Renaming files in a network folder

When I try renaming files that are in my Unraid server from my Windows PC I get the error "Didn't have write access to
one or more files! (No files have been modified)". Tried setting the folder security to public on Unraid but the problem persists.
Edit: Even adding the folder as a network drive gives the same error.

Can you provide some details about how your network share is setup? Are you using SMB? Does the account you're using have write access in addition to read? Can you manually create a file?

Using SMB, the account I use to access the folder has read/write access but even if I set the folder to public (which should not require an account for access) I get the same error.
Edit: Tried copying a folder locally and I get the same error, could it be a problem of my installation?
Edit2: Tried reinstalling as administrator, still getting the write access error on the local files. Forgot to mention I'm on Win11, don't know if it could be an issue

Tried on my laptop as well (still Win11, don't have a Win10 PC on hand) and I get the same exact error in local, network folders straight up don't work. Could it be a problem with Win11? Or am I doing something wrong? Ty :)

Tested some more and found out something weird, If I create a new file and name it "animeshowname".mkv it works, the file gets renamed with no errors, both local and in a network folder. As soon as I try to rename the real "animeshowname".mkv I get the error.

I don't have a Windows 11 machine to test with, unfortunately.

It sounds like a permissions error with your file, but the program could certainly use improved error handling.
Can you try taking ownership of the file?
takeown /f <some-file-or-folder> /r

Even after obtaining ownership of the files I still get the same error. At this point I believe it's an issue with my files since newly created ones work correctly even on Win11. Gonna try to fix the problem some more 'cause I really like MAL Renamer and I'd really like to use it for my collection, gonna update if I find anything useful. Tyvm for the help :)

Small update, tried manually renaming a file by double clicking it from the list and it works perfectly. The error only appears if I use the rename button on the bottom right (after having selected an anime via the search function).

Tried again cause I had a little free time, tried many different anime subfolders in the same network folder and some work while some don't. The weird thing is that sometimes it works for the folder "anime x" but not for the subfolder "OVA" inside that same folder. Really think my files properties got messed up somehow.
