[Bug]: Crashing with Wacom tablet on Wayland

What happened?

when : saving files, alpha to selection, opening file, changing image mode, etc

What should have happened?

i guess every action that requires a bit of CPU memory (no crash at all for these actions with the latest version of Gimp 2. ..).
Delay between command and action from Gimp much longer than with version 2. ..
Is this version of Gimp much more demanding in terms of memory than before?

Some of this may be because of #337. If you could follow the instructions in the comments and see if the later revision works, that would be great.

thanx for your answers and revisions. Installed the later one yesterday and it looks a little more stable, but still crashed several times this morning (after saving project or opening file, or just painting (brush, eraser..). Just crashes : the program stops at once (no message, no bug report).

Yes, that's a known issue I'm working on. Did you try the edge release with the updated gnome-46-2404 snap?

@frenchwr there might be something going on here with the OpenVINO plugins it seems?

The crash when selecting from alpha looks like it could be an actual gimp bug?

These are just warnings that are emitted on Intel-based systems where the AI plugins could be useful/interesting to a user, so it doesn't affect GIMP functionality. Do you find them misleading or intrusive? My intent was to raise awareness of their availability. :)

I went ahead and created an issue to remove this file to avoid the log message. Again, no impact on GIMP functionality, though.

This appears to be a symptom of the ffmpeg-2404 interface not being connected. The cleanup part in snapcraft.yaml is removing duplicate libraries from the snap that are already provided elsewhere and libSDL2-2.0.so.0 is one of these libs, so without the ffmpeg-2404 interface connected you get this error. In my case this interface did not autoconnect, I suppose we need to request an autoconnection from the store. I'm a bit confused about this line in the original bug report:

Nope, I cannot figure this out why this isn't autoconnecting. We have got auto connection for ffmpeg-2404 around last year, mid-July.

Was everything fine before we merged both the tracks?

I think this is something only the store team can answer.
