Feature request - Ship tracking via AIS

I propose a new feature: ship tracking via AIS (Automatic Identification System).

This feature would add an AIS decoding/viewing mode similar to the existing ADS-B aircraft tracking, but focused on maritime traffic. It could:

• Decode AIS signals from 161.975 and 162.025 MHz.
• Display live vessel positions on an interactive map similar to the ADS-B map.
• Show AIS fields like MMSI, callsign, vessel name, speed, course, and destination.
• Optionally show trails/history of recent positions.
• Have filters (callsign, name, type, speed, ...?).
• Export data.

There is already existing software that could be used for the backend, like AIS-catcher or rtl-ais.

Would love to see this with vhf audio built in exactly like the aircraft monitoring

Agree with the above poster, however would like to add the export of both AIS and ADSB so that it can be captured by other applications, like OPENCPN etc...
and an ability to keep it running even when you browse off the tab, for those that have multiple SDR's that is. Understood if you only have one SDR that would be an issue.
