Porting Pusher Library to AS2 ( from AS3 )

hi!
My client requires using Pusher Actionscript Library in his project. But unfortunately the whole massive project is built in AS2.0 . The option before us is to port the code of this librrary to AS2.0 . But to be on safe side, i wanna confirm if this is really a feasible and wise solution ?

Its been quite a while since I've looked at doing anything AS2. I imagine it would not be a straightforward port. Do you expect heavy pusher communications with a lot of data? If not you may also want to consider using the javascript library and then communicate into your swf with ExternalInterface. Just an option to think about, it may or may not be a good one.

Lot of data... i think yes, say ..xml data.
My concern was if AS3 version might be using some classes that are only available with AS3 ( but not AS2.0). As in my past experiences, i have gone through such cases/projects, where there was no way to make something in AS2 , what AS3 was able to do
. Obviously, one could write one's own classes for AS2, but that does not sound comfortable when feasibility is in question.

I'm not sure without digging into it, but it also relies on the WebSocket class from Hiroshi Ichikawa and when I look at that class I see things like ByteArray and Regex.
