Buffer size in callback

Is it possible to return the size of the buffer I see in the tooltip from the draw:buffered or draw:created event?
At the moment, the event fired returns the buffer layer which contains the polygon representing the buffer without any information on the size of the buffer that a developer can use further in the event listener for one of these events (or anywhere else in the code).

I found it in event.layers.getLayers()[0].getRadius() in the 'draw:buffered' event, works fine if I get it from there.

I think that only works for circles, and is also pretty unintuitive. I'd like to still add a bufferSize property to the event. Further, I was thinking about adding a draw:buffering event to get continuous updates as the user is actively buffering a shape.
