Description
We've been deploying small computers for ARTIQ for a while.
Sometimes it is desirable to mount that computer together with the other Sinara modules in the crate.
Here's a model for a 3d printable (STL or FDM) enclosure that allows mounting an Asus NUC 14 PCBA as a 3U/8HP module in a crate. It has its limitations (EMI/EMC, thermal) but may be helpful for some.
- There could even be an internal power supply solution using the Micro-JR Molex of that PCBA.
- A proper metal enclosure, or at least a front panel, would be interesting. But given the short cycles of these computers it might not be practical.
- Classic crate-mountable computers aren't very interesting here for cost reasons and because we don't need the internal connectivity that they aim for.
