Cannot Login (v2)

Description

After reverse proxying, e.g., to budget.mydomain.com, I cannot log in with any user or admin accounts.

Environment

• Firefox 146.01
• MacOS 26.2
• Ocular deployed via Docker on a Debian 13 VM on Proxmox. No other services running on the VM. Ocular Reverse proxied with Pangolin.

Expected behaviour

Logs in

Steps to reproduce

1. Create Ocular container
2. Create users
3. Reverse proxy Ocular
4. Login via HTTPs domain
5. Error.

Additional info

When visiting the HTTP site (i.e., 192.168....:3030), Ocular silently fails to login. As in, no error message, just flashes the login prompt and doesn't move forward.

You already had issues with the previous setup right?

Could you provide logs from your browser, the docker container and from your reverse proxy? Have you tried setting it up locally? There is nothing anymore besides setting up port forwarding now that it's a single container so I'm not sure how to help here anymore.

http is as of v2 not possible because of https-only cookies - I'll add that to the docs :)

Are you running any other services that work on your setup? I'm not familiar with Proxmox, but there is little I can do from my side. Does https://github.com/traefik/whoami work? That seems to be used widely to test if everything is set up correctly on your end.

It'd be nice to have a minimal reference container that works on your end, because the Dockerfile really isn't doing anything crazy, that's for sure.

I installed a new (for the first time) docker and I have this problem - I can't log in. I enter the login-password, click "log in," and I'm back at the login window

@ezhkov-ph sorry to hear that, could you provide more information / logs as well? To both your reference, I'm running ocular myself for years now on an Ubuntu LTS EC2 instance on AWS with the latest docker and never had any issues, and I'm not very familiar with other deployment variants so any help / PRs are highly appreciated! Especially now since v2 it's just a container and there's little to configure on my side.

@mgrimace @ezhkov-ph I fixed a major issue with ARM64 platforms in #149 (and it's now possible to access the app over http if really needed). Check out v2.2.2, maybe that fixes the issues you're having :)

I tried version 2.2.2 and added GENESIS_JWT_COOKIE_ALLOW_HTTP = true to the environment variables. Now it works for me, thanks!
