It would be good to have BearStatus work outside the browser in some way. Chrome Apps look very cool, and may be doable if we implement more intelligent auto refresh (issue #62)

👍 That'd be pretty cool. Porting it should be pretty quick (I've been working on one for awhile now). And with Apache Cordova, it can be ported to Android and iOS with minimal additional code, listed in Google Play and the App Store, and basically run like a native app.

If you wanted it to be truly native, it might be a lot of work given the server-side templating system, but simply embedding the site into a Chrome App wouldn't require much work.
