paredit Incorrect indent when wrapping expression with brackets

OSX 10.9.5

Select and expression containing indentation - say a let expression using 
shift-cmd ->.
type "(" to wrap the expression in ().
I would expect the whole of the original expression to be shifted right to 
accommodate "(" instead just the line is shifted so the indentation of the 
original expression is now incorrect and has to be re-formatted.

before insert:
(let [x :a]
  (println x))

after insert:
((let [x :a]
  (println x)));not indented so expression needs reformatting

expected:
((let [x :a]
   (println x)));indented with let
