Licensing of files taken from Source Extractor

Hi,

I am currently packaging sep for Debian, which includes a documentation of the licenses for all files.

For the files that were taken from Source Extractor, the README states that they have LGPL-3+ as license. The original Source Exctractor files however seem to be GPL-3+ (checked with 2.25.9).

Can you confirm that the relicensing is correct? If yes, could you clarify whether it is LGPL-3 or LGPL-3+, i.e. is a relicensing for newer versions allowed?

Hi @olebole - just going through a few of the older issues here. I can confirm that SEP has an LGPL licence, different from SExtractor, based on previous comments. I'm not too sure which of the two versions it has though (my gut feeling is LGPL-3), but I'll try to get in touch with Emmanuel to confirm.
