Here's a few things we can work on to make this even more user friendly and pretty!

• Slightly static feel when you enter, add some initial fade or pop to the elements as they appear
• The Christmas tree in the logo could twinkle?
• Differentiate the different doors of the calendar - visited or not, available or not, and which one is today's!
• Show the title on available articles when the user hovers (or always on smaller screens)
• The title kind of disappears a bit in the hero image - should we drop the image altogether?
• Add a "next" and "previous" link to the bottom as well
• Could we animate the transition between views somehow?

These are kind of notes to myself, but if you're feeling up for a challenge, I'm open to pull requests on this :)

More feedback from another designer:

• Move the introduction to the top of the page instead of near the bottom
• Can we add a "sign up for a newsletter" feature?
• It's hard to find content I've found interesting in the past - can we add a title to visited content / content from previous days?
• New images from Unsplash every day
• Show the domain name on the relevant links, so people know where they'll end up. I.e. medium.com when a link is to medium.com/some-url/12354.
• Add some share functionality
