null value returned when connection fails

Hi, I'm using the Home Assistant plugin to keep track of the battery level on my Chevy Bolt. I understand the limitations of the API and I know it will fail to connect after the car has been shut off for more than a few hours. However, I would expect the values for battery, odometer, etc. to default to their last known good value. Instead they return some non-numeric value that causes Home Assistant to display an error. Thanks!

All the state tracking is at the home assistant level, there isn't any with the library. So if you don't restart home assistant it should have the state there.
