Improve experience for people with a lot of vscode extensions configured

One way would be to configure the codespace to ignore the local extensions...?

Seems a little difficult.
It seems you can only disable specific extensions with settings (or run them only in the frontend), but not use a wildcard for that.
A good solution may be:
Run vscode with the option --disable-extensions for jumpstart, and start the devcontainer from there.
e.g:
code --disable-extensions
