cpu usage freezes after Android runs for a long period

After an unspecified amount of time the widget won't update neighter passively nor directly by tapping on it.
I set it up to show 8 bars fore the cores and a total percentage.

android version ? if you remove and replace it start working again ?

Android Version 7.1.x
It'll work again after a reboot, but when the device is running for like a week it won't display the correct values anymore.
