Hi, I could not figure out what was wrong with the extension because the only thing that was working were the tabs at the top of the page. Grades and Upcoming assignments would appear for half a second when loading the page, and they would disappear.
The problem seemed to be that I had automatic closed captioning turned on in the canvas settings. When I turned all of these settings back to default, off, the extension worked after removing it from chrome and reinstalling. It seems like the extension still will break if I enter account/settings, such as to generate an API key, even if I do not alter any settings. As long as all settings are default, this is fixed by reinstalling the extension.
