Hot swappable connector alternative

In my keyboard, I want to swap modules while working, without opening up my keyboard to change a cable. Would VIK consider supporting a second, hot-swappable type of connector and magnets or some other system for securing the module in place? Inspiration from the Naya Create keyboard (https://naya.tech/)

Hi @TildeWill - I hadn't noticed this issue until now. Sorry for the delayed response.

I have definitely considered exactly this! One thing I've considered is creating a standard PCB that connects to the VIK connector via FPC, and houses a magnetic connector. This would allow backwards compatibility with existing PCBs, and would address exactly what you're looking for!

I just mentioned in issue #2 that I'm keeping a list of potential items for a future VIK 2.0. I will keep this issue open as well, as I really like the idea. I think a magnetic connector would be outstanding.

I like the backwards compatibility idea!
I've looked at the duet and even ordered the same connectors - they're strong but not strong enough to hold a pointing device in place on an intense gaming session. I thought about using the Nintendo Switch Joy Con rail connectors because they're cheap and address my hot-swap needs, but those only have 10 pins. Feels like there must be something out there...
