You're right, it would be! 😄 I originally made this site in English because, well, it's the only language I speak.

And that's the big barrier for me here. I would have to rely on other people to write what is effectively an entirely new version of this website in the language they're adding, and also be willing to jump in if other parts of the site change (new sections, or even entirely new pages). It's not a lot, but it also kind of is a lot at the same time. I also don't want to farm this out to AI translation tools. As good as they are, they're no substitute for human-written text, especially for terse (what is effectively) documentation like this site. Without human oversight, I can't be confident that the site maintains a consistent tone of voice for all of the instructions.

With all that said, I am more than happy to accept contributions of more languages to this site. I'd probably be putting each language in their own folder to make it clearer. On my part, I'd be happy to make CSS changes to better support RTL writing modes to help out, since that is at least something I know a bit about, as well as making a language switcher.

The site must work without Javascript enabled.

That's why I opened this issue, I want to help but with no client-side js we can't use i18n.

I'd probably be putting each language in their own folder to make it clearer.

If we did that, any tiny update to a page would need to be manually copied into every language directory, huge duplication and a maintenance nightmare.

So the only approach that stays with no client-side js and avoids endless copy/paste is to use a static-site generator like Hugo or Sveltekit so you write each page once and it compile it out to/en/ or /ar/ and others, automatically.
