Pagination is not counted towards the character limit

To reproduce, set the limit to 4, input "Test", and enable pagination.
The result is:

Test
1/1

Which has more than four characters due to the pagination counter.

I observed this same thing. And not only is the pagination not counted, the carriage return (/n) before the pagination is not counted, either.

I split a post and Mastothread said one chunk was 498 chars. But mastodon.social and a local text editor confirmed that there were 502 chars.

The difference was the /n + 2/4.

Now, I can work around it by lowering the character limit in Mastothread to 496. But other than this bug, every other part of Mastothread is superior to the other post splitters I've seen. I like the manual split and green highlight when I click Copy.
