Can use NFC-enabled phone in place of a tag? #4
Description
It would be nice if riders could use NFC-capable phones to act as an NFC tag. This could be implemented as an:
- app -- most straightforward, but least convenient, since you'd have to unlock the phone and start the app before boarding/scanning
- lockscreen widget - very convenient, but only available in JB - KK
- service with a notification action -- a public notification with action to transmit the NFC. This would work on Lollipop+, but not pre-L
Some combination of the above would do it, assuming it is indeed possible for a phone to act sufficiently like an NFC tag (which seems extremely likely). Perhaps a combination of all three approaches in a single app?
