Error Message Printing Doesn't Have Details?

If trip an error via an API call, I only get back a code and not the detail defined here: https://github.com/rowansci/eyrie/blob/64330e172cef9eaf6dcabaa8cddf79ae2be9bc34/app/exceptions.py.

It would be great to get the detail back ... not sure if this is me or the API's problem.

Hm, this is interesting.

The error message is coming from httpx, but FastAPI should be sending back the details field in the JSON response. I think the default httpx error just doesn't print anything from the returned JSON, so we never see our cute little message.

I wonder if we can fix this ourselves?

    except httpx.RequestError as exc:
        print(f"Client error: {exc.request.details}")

It would be slightly irritating to add this everywhere in rowan-python but probably not the end of the world? idk. there may be a smarter solution @scschneider44

OpenAI seems to do some sort of custom exception handling like this, FWIW: https://github.com/openai/openai-python/blob/main/src/openai/_client.py#L752

For context, my desire for this came from two things:

• Developers said the Python API error messages were hard to interpret
• A user had a VPN that was hitting our firewall and couldn't figure out what was failing
