5" HDMI screen 800x480

Hello, by chance I came across contributions to this project.
I find it extremely interesting.

Now I have tried to create it with a Pi 4, DietPi OS and a 5" HDMI display.

In principle it works, but with some minor flaws.
There is an output on the display, the width is correct, but only 22 lines are displayed in the height.
The output is complete, but the remaining lines of the display are empty.
Since I am not a programming expert, I have solved the start with the help of the AI via a systemd service. Somehow I couldn't manage it any other way on DietPi.

Would it be possible to adapt Chronometer so that all lines of the 5" display are utilized?
I have already used an AI to do this, but it didn't work ;-). It wasn't that clever after all.

In my ignorance I wanted to adapt the chrono.py.

Anyway, it looks extremely nice as it is, but it would be perfect in fullscreen.

That's why I'm asking again, is there any possibility of support in this regard?

The issue you've described is a result of this application being a Text User Interface (TUI), as opposed to a Graphical User Interface (GUI). While I have included logic to dynamically adjust the width of the display by adding padding, the same cannot be done to adjust height without redesigning/rearranging how content is displayed.

The only way I can think of to get the display to better fill the screen is to adjust the resolution/font of the terminal. You may have to consult your screen's manufacturer or use dpkg-reconfigure console-setup or something equivalent. As referenced in the readme, my display is 480x320 with the console font set to VGA 8x14.

Thank you for your reply! The tip was very good. I got the best out of it with a few adjustments. There is still a small margin at the bottom, but it's fine. (10x20)
