The recipe zenoh-cpp-vendor and zenoh-cpp-vendor-native are failing at Master/Rolling.
They want to fetch zenoh-c during the compilation phase.

Could it be a solution to add the [meta-zenoh](https://github.com/Jarsop/meta-zenoh/tree/master/meta-zenoh) layer into the layers of meta-ros?

I am seeing a very similar error with scarthgap/jazzy when compiling gz-cmake-vendor(it's a dependency of sdformat):

It's kind of related.

CMake tries to fetch gz_cmake during the do_compile phase of Yocto if it could not find the specified version. And Yocto prevents this because it should happen during the do_fetch phase.

The solution in meta-ros is to make sure the dependency available so it will not try to fetch it.

But this probably fails because the requested version changed and is not yet available in meta-ros.

So the minor or patch version numbers were not the problem, it is that the bbappend file for gz-cmake-vendor depends on gz-cmake4 instead of gz-cmake3.

could be, I did not check that recipe.
Point is that the something-vendor' package needs the correct version of the 'something' package.
That version can be found in the CMake files of 'something-vendor'.
And should be available in meta-ros and being a dependency of 'something-vendor' package.
