Unable to set CREG_COM_SETTINGS.

I'm new to this forum and and currently struggling with getting the um7 sensor working on my Raspberry Pi 3. When I do rosrun, after roscore in a different terminal, I get following message:

I have read previous remarks on this problem, suggesting to check on the device permissions, but this does not seem to be the problem:

Try setting the serial device to low latency using /bin/bash -c 'echo 1 > /sys/bus/usb-serial/devices/ttyUSB0/latency_timer.
