Dots in Wifi SSID not allowed

Thank you so much for putting this project together. It saves me a lot of time and works fantastic.

I noticed on the Connect to SSID: field you can not enter periods in the name

For example: My SSID is asus2.4

I get a context error message "Please match the requested format."

I have the same problem, but it appears to not like any special characters. My SSID has a parentheses and it doesn't like that either.
