It allows so much more control and a bit more security.(before sending any data it allows just a popup to signin with with "HTTP Basic auth")
LinuxServer uses it and I personally use it with librewolf(firefox browser with less tracking) when I am messing around and need access from outside my home.
it also allows sending of audio so you could feasibly use it to stream the media as well.
