Licensing / permit to modify

Hello, 

Thanks for publishing this project as open source. I have toyed myself with modifying both firmware and hardware(maybe expanding a bit for external media support).

Since i haven't seen any license implemented, wanted to ask beforehand if we're allowed to modify your work.
