Communicate to JRC and solve missing data in JRC catalouge

The vernacular names on JRC data catalogue (https://easin.jrc.ec.europa.eu/api/cat/euconcern/) do not make use of all the available information as provided by IUCN, see sheet "All names index" of IUCN Excel file common names inventory (hosting webpage: https://www.iucn.org/regions/europe/our-work/biodiversity-conservation/invasive-alien-species/eu-regulation-technical-support/identification-species-union-concern).

I propose:

1. ask to JRC to update their common names in the data catalogue (https://easin.jrc.ec.europa.eu/api/cat/euconcern/) based on this Excel file (@timadriaens)
2. once this is done, harvest the updated common names list via API (@damianooldoni or @peterdesmet)

As updating the vernacular names on JRC data catalogue could take some time, I propose to publish vernacular names in version 2. @peterdesmet: do you agree on this approach?

I would like to pool all questions for JRC @peterdesmet could you formulate some of the issues encountered with their mapping?

We have the following suggestions/questions regarding https://easin.jrc.ec.europa.eu/api/cat/euconcern/:

• Can species author be populated (currently often "NameAuthor": null and "SpeciesNameAuthor": null)?
• Can language of common name be populated (currently often "Language": null)?
• Can entry into force date be added as a property?
• Why does https://easin.jrc.ec.europa.eu/api/cat/euconcern/ only return 48 records (88 expected on EU concern list)?
• What attribute is the most relevant identifier for a taxon? "SpeciesCatalogueId": "R00669" or "TaxonomyId": "fbd1c9de-8a22-4caa-a9b2-62ffbb3834c5"?
• Is the distribution information correct and up to date? Example (extracted from Add distribution #10 (comment)): Why Myriophyllum heterophyllum has a note indicating two dates "1800, 1973"? The database "NOBANIS" mentioned as reference for this information mentions 1885 as year of first report, not 1800.
