Select which version to install

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.
I would like to use GitHub Store, but I noticed that unfortunately you don't have the option to choose which version from the repository is installed.

Example:
I would like to install Thunderbird for Android (https://github.com/thunderbird/thunderbird-android/releases). When I select Thunderbird Android within GitHub Store, K9 Mail is installed (marked as latest).

I would also like to install beta or pre-release versions from time to time. These could also be selected for installation.

Describe the solution you'd like
In my opinion, a button that activates a selection field would make sense. You could then specify the desired version to install in this selection field.

This concept is currently used in HACS (Home Assistant Community Store).

Describe alternatives you've considered
I can't think of any alternative at the moment.

Hey @dontobi thanks for the feedback. Hmm this one already came to my mind (about selecting specific version) but i think that installing the latest version is something special about GitHub Store and at the moment i can't think where could i inject that new UI component on the screen and what about the updates... I think i am making this one discussion and let people share their opinions about it and if they like this i will be working on that new feature!

Also about selecting which release type to install is already suggested (there's an issue about it) so that's another thing to think about... But yeah let's also make discussion for that one too 😄
