Exploring microsandbox for isolation

Was wondering what's other experience with using sandboxes with workmux?

I've tried using lima but the speed of provisioning and just resource usage seems to be a bit higher than expected.

I know there is container, but one fear I have with containers is volume mounts. They tend to be a bit painful, at least for javascript projects.

Wondering if there is interest for microsadnbox

What is the issue with volume mounts? (Apple Container is also supported as of today, not sure if relevant to you.)

Usual docker binding of the folders is mounted as network drive. Newer version support virtiofs but it still leads to read/write speed penalty.

It's now when you combine that with node_modules folder and tools like vite which create bunch of small files it creates noticeable dip when developing and it reloads the build.

Haven't tried apple containers with workmux yet. But actually that would work very similar to what microsandbox does 🤔 Just that it seems microsandbox might have higher level abstractions/better DX.
