Contributor Covenant Code of Conduct

Our Pledge

As members, contributors, and maintainers of depkeeper, we pledge to foster an open, welcoming, inclusive, and harassment-free environment for everyone.

We are committed to ensuring participation regardless of:

  • Age
  • Body size
  • Visible or invisible disability
  • Ethnicity
  • Gender identity or expression
  • Level of experience
  • Education
  • Socio-economic status
  • Nationality
  • Personal appearance
  • Race or caste
  • Religion
  • Sexual identity or orientation

Our goal is to build a community where contributors feel supported, heard, respected, and safe.

Our Standards

Positive behaviors that help our community thrive:

  • Demonstrating empathy, respect, and kindness toward others
  • Welcoming new contributors and being supportive of their learning
  • Giving and accepting constructive feedback gracefully
  • Taking responsibility and apologizing when mistakes occur
  • Focusing on what benefits the community as a whole

Unacceptable behaviors include (but are not limited to):

  • Sexualized language, imagery, or inappropriate attention
  • Trolling, insulting, or derogatory comments
  • Personal, political, or religious attacks
  • Public or private harassment
  • Publishing private information (e.g., addresses) without permission
  • Any behavior that would be considered inappropriate in a professional setting

Enforcement Responsibilities

Community leaders are responsible for:

  • Clarifying community standards
  • Responding to unacceptable behavior
  • Taking fair and appropriate corrective action
  • Moderating contributions (issues, PRs, comments, commits, wiki edits)
  • Explaining moderation decisions when appropriate

Scope

This Code of Conduct applies:

  • Within all depkeeper community spaces (GitHub Issues, PRs, Discussions)
  • In public spaces where someone is representing the community

Representation examples include using an official email, posting via a project account, or speaking at events on behalf of depkeeper.

Enforcement

If you experience or witness unacceptable behavior, please report it through our confidential contact form:

All reports will be reviewed promptly, fairly, and confidentially. Community leaders will respect the privacy and safety of reporters at all times.

Enforcement Guidelines

The following guidelines outline how community leaders will handle violations.

1. Correction

Community Impact: Minor inappropriate behavior or first-time offense.

Consequence: Private written warning explaining what went wrong and how to improve. A public apology may be requested.

2. Warning

Community Impact: Repeated violations or more serious behavior.

Consequence: Formal warning with clear consequences for continued behavior. Avoiding interaction with affected parties may be required.

3. Temporary Ban

Community Impact: Serious or repeated violations.

Consequence: Temporary ban from participation in all community spaces. Any attempt to circumvent the ban may result in escalation.

4. Permanent Ban

Community Impact: Pattern of sustained inappropriate behavior, harassment, or discrimination.

Consequence: Permanent ban from all community participation.
