Consider using custom messages where appropriate

Now there is a lot of GitStats messages shown, they may be too technical, better make use of simpler messages.

For set_database() it would be nice to get informed on:

• what index has been set,
• what namespace has been set,
• if error then proper message, if no namespace/index has been found or sth else.
